not sure about those jacks (unless you call the company), but if you want an idea of what that looks like you can drool over it on that website. it sounds like a dream instrument :)
p.s. halo does not mix active/passive so you might have to gp somewhere else but hot dman thats one versatile abss

yeah, thats a really cool idea. its super metal and i like the cutaways. Halo Guitars takes custom body designs, and it usually doesnt affect the price unless you want an arch top :)

So, since a lot of people on this forum are gear scholars and know all kinds of crazy shit, I thought it might be really cool if we could have a thread about our own guitar designs. i often do this as a pastime, and it dates back to my high school days when I was bored in class. The website I use to generate the guitars is the Halo Guitars website and it's really good.
Personally, I'm infatuated with this design I made for a guitar. It uses the Ibanez "Super Strat" type body, and has two variations. Both come only in natural finish, with mahogany bodies, spalted maple tops and backs, baritone scale and set-neck construction. The first variation has an Evertune bridge, 6 strings and an EMG 81 in the bridge position. One vol, one tone, one-trick pony. The second has 7 stings, with EMG 60-7Hs, one in bridge and the other in neck. Floyd Rose trem bridge, 2vol and 2tone. More of a lead-oriented guitar..
WHAT SAY YOU, EB?
NOTE: Bass designs are more than welcome.

The Revstar is an excellent guitar and I highly recommend it. The best one is the 420, it's affordable and has excellent QC. Missing some of the appearance bells and whistles from a higher end RS, but it gets the job done and then some. It also has a weird fucking "not-coil-tap" thing that just kind of rolls off the humbucker-ness and gives you a single coil sound without losing the power of the pickup.

I wouldn't thin that herd.
all those double cuts........mmmm!
But I agree with Blake, British rock is at least alive. American rock doesn't exist anymore.

not to mention the fact that a lot of hip hop songs have the laziest beat ever made by holding down one button on garageband and they all use the same backing track for their "raps," which are really just slowed-down slam poetry.

my mother tried to make me pay for college by selling my instruments. i said fuck off.

hm. sounds like what you need is to spend all your money and consolidate your net worth in material possessions, so the next time you go grocery shopping you can pay the guy with a Bullet Strat.

Your favorite albums released this year
2017 looks like it will never match last year. We had new Blink-182, new Descendents and Green Day last year (fine, the Green Day album was shit, but it was THERE) and we had new stuff from indie punk bands no one's ever heard of, like PUP. I rave about them a lot because they are so good.

Favorite Instrumment You've Ever Touched?
yeah, gretsch is a really interesting brand and I've always wanted to play them. it's really hard for me to find one though. I borrowed one from a friend for a recording session when I was in high school to do some ultra-clean parts. that was how I started getting into guitars and moved away from basses. with basses, there isn't a TON of variety (at least I feel). so I broke out into guitars. my music teacher basically put my thick bassist fingers where they needed to go for the part, and that was the first guitar part I learned. now I'm getting more serious about the guitar, Im genuinely interested.

totally. people say "oh, it's only $300" but honestly that's where you find some of the best utilitarian shit that won't break

i remember a neighbor of mine had the lead 20 and I was seriously contemplating stealing it from him one time.
9yabout 9 years ago
Really? I feel like I saw one new... whatever. Maybe a new model? I know they have an O.K. digital modeling amp that models their tubes...
9yabout 9 years ago
I agree, Marshall makes a great solid state amp in the Lead 20. For guitar cleans, I think the Roland JC and some Fenders are pretty good solid-state guitar amps.
9yabout 9 years ago
Yeah, that's pretty understandable. It's a logical position. However, I don't mind transistors in other places either. ;);)
But for a guitar, nothing beats an AC30 or a Thunderverb. Tubes are the guitar thing.
9yabout 9 years ago
So, I know this seems like a stupid question, but I think it's a good discussion. Tubes have that warm, smooth overdriven sound, and good cleans. Solid states have buzzy, harsh OD circuits but really 100% clean sound. What do you prefer?
For a bass, I can't see why solid states are bad. They put a nice clean tone, and a functioning overdrive. The OD on my solid state bass amp is pleasant when I play it with my Jag's J-pickup.
For guitar, tubes. All the tubes.

The White Keys - Did you know Jack White and Dan Auerbach hate each other?
i don't think the black keys are a ripoff at all, because I think that Jack has quite an individual sound that is more... produced than the Black Keys. also, on their latest album, the Keys took a crazy, left-field Pink Floyd trip.
