Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Behringer FCV100 Dual-Mode Expression.

Features and functionality

  • The pedal does not generate voltage on its own; it requires an external voltage source to function in CV mode.

    Source
  • The pedal utilizes a dual VCA to manage stereo signal attenuation, not to provide its own voltage.

    Source
  • EXP->USB or EXP->MIDI adapters are necessary for integrating the FCV100 with computers, due to the lack of direct MIDI output from the pedal itself.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • Users have attempted to integrate the FCV100 with Behringer Model D synths by routing CV signals through the pedal for modulation control.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The Behringer FCV100 was compared to the DOD FX17, with the latter noted for its limited CV range, prompting users to seek improvements.

    Source
  • Some users mistakenly equate expression pedals with wah pedals, highlighting the need for clear understanding of pedal functions and connections in digital setups.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • A TRS cable is necessary for proper operation in CV mode, allowing for signal routing from the source to the pedal and back.

    Source

Software and compatibility

  • Users noted the FCV100's expression feature is tied to CV mode on Output 2, incompatible with interfaces lacking an EXP input.

    Source
  • The standalone plugin modes support MIDI without requiring a DAW, simplifying setup for users with standalone applications.

    Source

User experience

  • Interfaces generally don't support EXP inputs directly; a dedicated adapter or controller is recommended for proper functionality with digital setups.

Rugged, versatile stereo volume pedal.

The first one that I bought impressed me enough to want to buy a second. I still have both. Housed in a tough enclosure with enough rubber bumpers to rival a dodgem car, this is built to take the knocks on the road. At its simplest, it can be a passive stereo volume pedal. When powered by a 9V battery or wall-wart, it will also send a CV to a keyboard or module (it won't do both simultaneously though). Really solid and usable pedal. It sits squarely on the floor too, and doesn't creep away from you because of the solid rubber foundation.
