Owner Insights
We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Zoom FP02M Expression Pedal.
Features and functionality
-
The Zoom FP02M expression pedal affects only "pedal" patches on the B3n, limiting dynamic effect manipulation like tremolo speed adjustment.
Source -
The expression pedal functionality consumes 4-8 DSP points, reducing available processing power for other effects, which is a limitation with the B3n's 100 DSP point capacity.
Source -
Zoom B3n's interface allows only three visible buttons at a time, restricting access to desired effects when using double-slot pedals.
Source -
The Zoom FP02M does not include a switch for different modes, which can limit compatibility with devices like the Katana.
Source
Comparisons
-
The pitch shifting of the B3n tracks almost as well as the Bass Whammy, delivering competitive performance at a lower price point.
Source
Software and compatibility
-
The Guitar Lab software offers basic patch management, but allows drag-and-drop for organizing patches, improving upon the previous lack of software support.
Source -
Some users experienced irregular channel switching and limited volume control when connecting the FP02M to a GA-FC, suggesting potential compatibility issues.
Source
Use cases and applications
-
The FP02M is ideal for users seeking to simplify complex pedal setups, such as those transitioning from large multi-pedal boards to a more streamlined configuration.
Source
User experience
-
Owners have reported that the FP02M only lowers volume rather than fully cutting it when used with certain setups, indicating potential limitations in its volume control range.

Another useful addition to your Zoom multiFX
I usually have the built-in expression pedal on my Zoom B2.1u set for some form of modulation, (e.g: pitchbend, chorus depth, or whatever), so I use this mainly as a volume pedal - of course you could programme it to suit your own needs...
