Description
The Carvin FG1 Frank Gambale signature aquaburst is a testament to the collaboration between legendary guitarist Frank Gambale and Carvin, bringing a distinctive blend of style and performance to the world of solid body electric guitars. Designed with the discerning musician in mind, this guitar combines classic craftsmanship with modern innovations to deliver an exceptional playing experience.
At the heart of the FG1 is its custom Carvin S22 pickups, which offer a wide tonal range, from warm, jazz-inspired cleans to searing rock leads. This makes it a versatile choice for musicians who traverse genres with ease. The set neck design ensures seamless transitions between the neck and body, providing superior sustain and playability. The 22-fret ebony fingerboard is adorned with sleek abalone inlays, adding a touch of elegance to this already striking instrument.
The carved top is a nod to traditional guitar aesthetics, while the chambered body construction reduces weight, making it comfortable for extended playing sessions. The FG1 also features a tune-o-matic bridge and a stop tailpiece, ensuring excellent intonation and tuning stability. Frank Gambale endorses his signature guitars on his website.
Carvin worked very closely with Frank Gambale in the development of the FG1. This guitar is a true Carved Top Semi-Hollow Double-Cutaway instrument. The genuine Mahogany body is chambered and features a premium carved Curly-Flamed Maple top. The FG1 neck profile and heel are custom sculpted to Frank’s specifications which makes for very comfortable playability and total access to all 22 frets. Frank chose the C22B pickup for the bridge and worked with Carvin to develop the FG22N neck pickup. This exquisite instrument is extremely versatile and will handle all music styles from jazz to rock.
"Frank Gambale tours exclusively with a handful of his signature guitars. On the electric side he brings a pair of Carvin FG-1 models (his No.1 is shown above). Over the years, Gambale has experimented with variety of tonewoods, but this particular one has a maple body with a maple top." - Premier Guitar.
