Description
The Charvel Rick Graham Signature Pro-Mod DK24 2PT CM MPL Electric Guitar is a masterful blend of vintage charm and modern performance, designed in collaboration with esteemed UK guitarist Rick Graham. Built on a solid alder foundation, this guitar is adorned with a distressed nitrocellulose finish that not only enhances its visual appeal but also its resonant qualities. The lightweight Dinky body is ergonomically contoured, featuring a scalloped lower back bout for superior upper fret access, making it perfect for high-speed solos and intricate chord progressions.
Equipped with a graphite-reinforced maple neck, the Pro-Mod DK24 offers a satin finish that ensures effortless playability, even during the most demanding sessions. Its compound-radius fingerboard hosts 24 jumbo frets and Luminlay side dots, facilitating smooth transitions and excellent visibility on dimly lit stages. At its core, this guitar sports a versatile HSS pickup configuration, with custom-wound Charvel pickups delivering everything from glassy cleans to ferocious high-gain tones. The intuitive control layout, including a five-way blade switch and dome-style knobs, allows for seamless tonal exploration.
This high-performance instrument is completed with a recessed Gotoh 510 tremolo bridge, ensuring rock-solid tuning stability and precise intonation, while the Charvel locking tuners and Graph Tech TUSQ XL nut provide additional reliability. In this video from Charvel, Rich Graham discusses his signature model guitar saying:
This new Charal signature has been a real journey. When my first model came out, it felt like a milestone. It captured who I was at the time, what I needed, and what I wanted to say as a player. But time moves on, and so do we. Since then, a lot has changed in my playing and in my life. I've been through a few ups and downs, and I've had to take a step back at times, but in that space, I found myself reconnecting with the reason why I started all this in the first place. The love of the instrument, the feeling it gives you, the sound that takes you somewhere.
So, this new signature, it's kind of a reflection of that, of who I am now and where I'm heading. Holding on to what I love from the original, but taking things further. We've kept the shape, but this time we've gone with resonant older. There's still that lower back scallop for comfort, but it's now paired with a super fast maple neck and a reverse headstock. A little nod to the players that live a spark for me. I've always been a huge fan of relics. They just look and feel like they've already lived a bit, like they have a story to tell. Finished in nitrocellulose. It's calling out to be picked up and for those stories to continue.
As for the hardware, what I need is still there. The same Gotoh 510 that worked before, but now we have new custom wound pickups in an HSS configuration. Everything just feels more refined, versatile, powerful, and beautifully voiced. This guitar isn't a reinvention. It's a continuation. It's evolved. It's everything I need right now. And everything I love about playing guitar distilled into one instrument. I'm very proud of it. And I hope when people pick it up that they feel that too.
