Epiphone Dave Mustaine Flying V Custom review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

Dave Mustaine's signature Flying V from Epiphone is a metal enthusiast's delight, combining exceptional playability with a versatile pickup setup. The guitar's resonant tones and sleek finish make it stand out, while the signature Seymour Duncan Thrash Factor pickups provide a dynamic range suitable for thrash metal. However, the guitar is best played standing up, which might be a drawback for some. Despite not being entry-level in price, it offers a close experience to Mustaine's stage instruments at a fraction of the cost of higher-end models, making it a solid investment for metal guitarists.

The Big Review: Gibson Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP – A no-brainer V for thrash fans?

guitar.com

The Gibson Dave Mustaine Flying V EXP is a triumph for thrash enthusiasts, offering a signature experience tailored to Mustaine's preferences. With its unique 25.5” scale length, ebony fretboard, and high-output Seymour Duncan Thrash Factor pickups, it delivers the aggressive mids-rich tone that fans crave. While vintage V purists might balk at its modern features and high price, this guitar is unapologetically crafted for metalheads who idolize Mustaine. Despite some reservations about its accessibility and unconventional design, it stands as a compelling option for those seeking to channel the godfather of thrash's legendary sound.

Epiphone Dave Mustaine Flying V Prophecy review | Guitar World

guitarworld.com

The Epiphone Dave Mustaine Flying V Prophecy impresses as the most versatile of Mustaine's signature models, boasting Fishman pickups for a wide range of tones and a unique Aged Dark Red Burst finish. While the build quality is top-notch, and the tonal options are abundant, potential buyers might consider the price point, which edges close to Gibson USA models. The lack of left-handed options is also a downside. Overall, this guitar stands out for its versatility and unique aesthetic but faces stiff competition at its price tier.
