The DiPinto Belvedere Deluxe is a versatile guitar that excels in jazz and rockabilly genres, offering a range of tones from bright to jazzy. Its hot pickups deliver massive sustain without unwanted noise, and the build quality is solid, with a thick finish ensuring durability. However, the design may be off-putting for some, with a glitter-heavy aesthetic that might not appeal to everyone. The Bigsby tailpiece can affect tuning stability, especially with heavier use. While the guitar is well-made and responsive, it is relatively heavy and lacks branded components, which could be a downside for some players. Overall, this guitar is a niche choice that shines in specific styles but might not suit all tastes.

Last year in Philadelphia, on a whim, I bought a DiPinto Belvedere. I’ve been using it mostly as a backup guitar but increasingly I’m using it on new songs that are using drop-D and other alternate tunings. It’s a little bit darker and warmer — thanks to the combination of a mahogany fretboard and rosewood semi-hollow body — so it’s a nice counterpoint to the twang of the Tele.
