FX68 Super Stereo Chorus Review: Its literally ancient. But that being said; its Vintage sound quality... | DOD | Guitar Effects | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The DOD FX68 Super Stereo Chorus delivers a rich, versatile sound that can range from subtle to bold, seamlessly integrating with other pedals. Its "vintage" charm is unmatched, offering a warm, expansive tone perfect for both practicing and live settings. However, its age shows in outdated power requirements and a fragile battery cover, which might be inconvenient for some users. Despite these drawbacks, its sound quality and durability make it a worthwhile investment, especially for those seeking a classic chorus effect. The review suggests it's a must-buy for those who can find it.

The DOD FX68 Super Stereo Chorus is a vintage gem with unmatched sound quality, though its age shows. While praised for its fantastic, timeless tone, it may not meet modern durability expectations. Ideal for those seeking a classic chorus sound, but be prepared for potential reliability issues.

It will do the work on your pedalboard!

I use it mostly on bass, it's clean not so intense maybe too buffered but it gives a real classic chorus sound. Perfect for jazz and also fretless basses.

Mentioned in this June 28, 2019 Music Radar interview about the recording of In the End.

DOD FX68 Chorus

“I don’t use a lot of pedals, but I have this old DOD chorus. It’s cheap as anything, but it became very much a part of The Cranberries sound and it’s on every album we’ve ever done.”

It is also mentioned on page 32 of the June 1999 issue of Guitar Player and this March 2018 Sound on Sound interview about the recording of "Linger".

"I had a DOD Chorus pedal that I still use to this day. It was the very first pedal I bought and it's still in my rig because it has a setting on it that is very much the Cranberries' sound."
