LTD EX-50 Review | ESP | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The ESP/LTD EX-50 emerges as a surprisingly robust entry-level guitar for metal enthusiasts. Known for its striking design and powerful ESP LH-100 humbuckers, it appeals to beginners seeking a high-gain tone. While it's not without its flaws, such as occasional durability concerns, most users agree that it offers excellent value, especially for the price. It's less suited for live performances but shines in practice settings, making it a great budget option for aspiring metalheads. Overall, it's a commendable choice for those starting out in the genre.

LTD EX-50 Review: I've been playing it for 6 months now and I wish... | ESP | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The ESP/LTD EX-50 is a budget-friendly guitar aimed at metal enthusiasts, but it disappoints in execution. While EMG pickups deliver a heavy, rich sound, the instrument suffers from poor build quality and durability. The factory setup is subpar, requiring adjustments for decent playability. The agathis wood body and weak hardware diminish its reliability, making it fragile and prone to wear. Despite its aesthetic appeal, persistent tuning issues and hardware failures mar the experience. Ultimately, the EX-50 might tempt beginners with its price, but it leaves much to be desired in quality and longevity.
