Steve Lacy used a Limited Edition Fender Adam Clayton Precision Bass during the recording of his debut album Apollo XXI, as well as on his subsequent first tour promoting that album. He can be seen posing with the bass in the attached Instagram photo.
Adam Clayton has been using Fender basses for decades. In partnership with Fender, Adam has co-designed a signature bass that brings his custom specs to the bass-playing public. The Adam Clayton Precision Bass features a custom maple "C" shaped neck profile designed by Clayton for a smooth feel and instant playability. A solid alder body on the Adam Clayton PBass also gives this instrument impeccable tone for live performance, while a single Custom Shop 60's Single-Coil pickup is featured, delivering clean, low, fat tone when amplified.
