Critic Reviews

“Run to the Hills” – Fender Steve Harris Precision Bass | Bass Gear Magazine

bassgearmag.com

The Fender Steve Harris Signature Precision Bass is a love letter to the Iron Maiden bassist's iconic tone and style. Sporting a unique maple body and a Seymour Duncan SPB-4 pickup, it delivers authoritative tone with clarity and dynamic range. The bass's aesthetics, including a mirror chrome pickguard and West Ham United crest, are striking. However, its weight is a consideration, and the tone control gets mushy when rolled off too far. Despite these quirks, it remains a standout P-bass, perfect for fans of Harris's work and those seeking a robust, articulate sound.

Fender Steve Harris Signature Precision Bass review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Fender Steve Harris Signature Precision Bass impresses with its robust build and exceptional tonal range. This instrument is ideal for rock and metal enthusiasts, offering great passive tones thanks to its Seymour Duncan pickup. While its substantial weight might deter some, it contributes to the bass's rich sound, making it a worthwhile challenge for those seeking power and clarity. Its design nods to Harris's West Ham United allegiance, providing both visual and sonic appeal. A padded strap is recommended to manage its heft, but this bass is a solid performer all around.

i don't own this bass, but played it at the store

if you look up the iron maiden music video of number of the beast, this bass sounds exactly like the tone used it that video without compression. i had the do some fiddling around to get a tone suitable for led zepplin, but it's possible. i'd definitely buy this bass even if your not a iron maiden fan. this is a PRO bass.
