Description

The Fender Flea Signature Jazz Bass is a splendid emulation of Flea's personal 1961 Jazz Bass that has been the core of many Red Hot Chili Peppers classics. This bass blends the vintage aesthetic with modern functionality, making it a perfect choice for both seasoned musicians and passionate beginners.

Paying homage to the original, this model boasts a Shell Pink finish, one of Fender's rarest custom colors. This finish, complemented by a Road Worn nitrocellulose lacquer, gives it an authentically aged look, ready to age gracefully with each performance.

The Fender Flea Signature Jazz Bass offers a resonant foundation with an alder body and maple neck. The vintage-accurate specs, including a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard and threaded steel barrel bridge saddles, provide an authentic playing feel, unlocking limitless potential for any musician.

This bass carries the tone of a pair of Pure Vintage '64 Jazz Bass pickups, hand-wound to recreate the sound of early 1960s Fender pickups. These pickups deliver clear lows, punchy mids, and singing highs, creating a voice that cuts through a mix with articulate clarity and harmonic richness.

Critic Reviews

Fender Flea Signature Jazz Bass review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Fender Flea Signature Jazz Bass is praised for its solid construction and warm tones, offering a vintage vibe with its aged appearance and Pure Vintage 64 pickups. While it captures the essence of Flea's style, the bass is noted to be smoother and darker-sounding compared to models like the Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. The dual stacked volume and tone controls provide tonal flexibility, suitable for various music styles beyond funk rock. However, the price point is a consideration, as it might be high for a Mexican-made bass, but it remains a worthy option for both Flea fans and general players.

Great bass, thin neck. The one I played 95% of the gigs and rehearsals the past 2 years.

Great thin neck, even compared to the the thinner jazz bas necks. Tonally some more options due to the separate volume and tone controls for each pick up. A bit doubtful about the colour and harsh relic, but I have had lots of good comments after shows, it stands out.
