Situational, but works wonders whenever needed.
Another freebie from Full Bucket. This here emulates a Korg Trident. It's a very old string synthesizer Korg has made, after a new wave of those started to spread throughout the world of music (most notably with the ARP Solina, but there's other brands that have attempted something similar, like Korg here!)
It comes in 3 parts: There's a synthesizer section, acting like a standard synth, a Brass section, trying to synthesize a brass type of sound, and a String section, which is your standard thin string synth sound, typical of those string machines. You can mix and blend those in to your liking, and even enable different footings for the brass and strings. Suffice to say this is quite a complete package here.
I don't use this a whole lot, honestly. The sound just isn't for me most of the time, however in the rare instance where I actually want the sound this can provide, it works beautifully. You have a lot of flexibility with this thing for being a string machine first and foremost, so that's something to keep in mind. However, even when I do, it often makes sense to use something else entirely - like another plugin that has a synth string sound, or brass sound, etc
It is free though, and when it works it really works.
