Even though it ships with AKAI hardware as a freebie, this synth has a lot going for it. Most notable to me are the four customizable 'Morph' settings that can tweak the instrument in some very satisfying ways. Even if this wasn't a freebie from AKAI, I would see myself seeking out a synth that does exactly what the Hybrid3 does.
This thing sounds great. Came bundled with the Akai MPK Mini and I'm loving it. Simple, easy, straightforward -- nice to turn to when you just want a great synth patch, especially leads, pads, and basses
Ability to have an "A" sequence and "B" sequence and to fine tune each while also applying effects to both allows some really interesting combinations that add pace and interest to your track
The amount of presets this synth comes with is ridiculous. The sequenced bass, wobbles, and arpeggiator presets are outstanding. The fact that it comes free with some AKAI hardware may look like they are just giving things out but they really are not just trying to get rid of it they are doing you a favor I absolutely love this plugin.
One of the best VST instruments out there. Rivaling even that of Serum. I originally got this in a bundle with my MPKmini MKII, and this is one of the reasons I wanted the MPKmini MKII in the first place. The built in presets just don't really hi-light all of the capabilities of the VST, which in my opinion, is the ONLY con to the software. I've played with it for hours just in standalone.
Its really a great synth for its price. Its versitile and comes with a lot of sounds. Sadly it always sounds a little bit muddy, so I always have to put an EQ with a high shelf & slight mid/low cut behind it.
