Description

Do late-'80s hard rock tones make you jubilant? They certainly make Alex Lifeson feel that way. That’s why he commissioned the amp gurus at Mojotone to build him a tour-worthy re-creation of a legendary, 50-watt amp head from across the pond. The Lerxst Omega boasts all the same features as its silver-trimmed predecessor, including a 3-band EQ, two footswitchable channels, a Rhythm Clip mode, and a serial effects loop. The Lerxst Omega is top-shelf all the way, with high-end components like Mojotone Dijon caps, Heyboer transformers, CTS pots, and JJ tubes. Handwired in Burgaw, North Carolina, the Lerxst Omega delivers the full gamut of classic British tones. This Lerxst Omega has been hand-signed by Alex himself and includes a custom serial number plate and certificate of authenticity — and you can only get these autographed versions here at Sweetwater. There's only 100 of these available, and they won't last long, so order yours today!

Streamlined control set = great tone Classic guitar amps aren’t weighed down by flashing OLED screens and complex switching schemes. After all, dialing in great tone shouldn’t be that challenging! Hence, the Lerxst Omega features a streamlined control set. You get two channels: a Rhythm channel and a Lead channel, which are either footswitchable or accessed by pulling out the Output Master knob. An Input Gain knob varies the amount of gain available for each channel. The Rhythm channel exhibits a nice, glassy clean tone that gives American amps a run for their money. Pulling out the Input Gain knob activates the Rhythm Clip mode, which adds a healthy dose of dirt to your rhythm tones. The Lead channel yields a scorching hot, British-textured high-gain crunch that will take you back to 1987. A Lead Master knob enables you to balance the volume of your rhythm and lead tones. A shared 3-band EQ makes dialing in your basic tone a breeze, while a Presence control enables you to fine-tune your upper mids. Beyond that, a Half Power switch reduces your wattage from sold-out stadium to backyard barbeque, while a serial effects loop makes integrating your favorite stompboxes and external effects easy. Harness an infinite array of classic British tones

There are an infinite number of tones lurking in the Lerxst Omega. Its clean settings sound rich and girthy with a Les Paul and snappy and bell-like with a Strat. Activating the Rhythm Clip mode yields everything from filthy funk rhythms to dirty, SRV-esque blues tones. The guitarists here at Sweetwater really dig the Lerxst Omega’s Lead channel — chunky rhythms, palm-muted chugs, screaming Slash-style lead tones — they’re all in there. And no matter how you dial it in, the Lerxst Omega maintains excellent dynamics, clarity, and note definition.

Handwired using world-class components The Lerxst Omega boasts a classic design that’s been handwired using world-class components. It starts with turret board construction and carbon comp resistors; both of which are an important part of many classic tube amp designs. This amp’s Mojotone Dijon coupling capacitors mimic the sound and performance of classic Philips Mullard Mustard capacitors. Heyboer transformers inject the Lerxst Omega with all the volume, tone, dynamics, and harmonics you’d expect from a top-shelf, handmade amp. Its CTS high-quality potentiometers are among the most robust and reliable in the industry. And it uses JJ tubes — one of the most respected brands out there.
