Epiphone does great things for the money - My ES339, the Dot, The Sheraton II, Casino, LP pros.... the list goes on. One of the best things IMHO is that on the models mentioned above, you don't feel the need to rush out and replace the pickups. But if you do, much like the Squier classic vibes, great platforms for modding...
