Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Line 6 Relay G90 Rackmount Digital Wireless Guitar System.

User experience

  • Users report the need for line of sight to maintain connectivity with the G10S, indicating potential issues with obstructions.

    Source
  • Some users find the G90 transmitter clips lose grip over time, suggesting a pouch as a longer-lasting alternative for securing the transmitter.

    Source
  • Owners appreciate the Line 6 G10's ability to automatically charge the transmitter when docked in its base, simplifying use for frequent home practice.

    Source
  • Shure's rechargeable external battery is favored for ease of replacement, minimizing AA battery usage.

    Source
  • G90's advertised 300' range is questioned, with noted reliability up to 50' but concerns beyond that distance.

Comparisons

  • The SWIFF WS-70, a cheaper UHF digital system, offers good sound quality but has noticeable latency, making it less suitable for precise practice with a metronome.

    Source
  • The G90 is compatible with the G50 transmitter, allowing users to switch between guitars without changing the transmitter.

    Source
  • Digital systems like the G90 may struggle in crowded environments with WiFi interference, making UHF a recommended alternative.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • The Line 6 G10 is highly recommended for home practice due to its ease of use and ability to maintain a tidy setup without cable clutter.

    Source
  • For solo performances in smaller venues, the Sennheiser XS Wireless Digital system has intermittent signal issues, potentially making Xvive a better option.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • The Line 6 G90's transmitter uses a standard TS cable, avoiding the need for proprietary cables and simplifying replacements.

    Source

Build quality

  • The Line 6 G90's transmitter strap clip is prone to breaking but can be effectively replaced with a transmitter pouch for better durability.

Awesome wireless

Noiseless, had no problems with dropouts and extremely generous to audio all the way from the lowest bass and highest treble. (very noticeable with my Alembic basses)

Superior quality, pity about the battery life

A very good unit. No drop outs yet. Easy to use and quick to setup. My only gripe is the battery life. But I reckon most wireless systems suffer from this issue.

pa_anoid

The best overall wireless model & brand there is.

I've been owning a G50 for years now & I love the simplicity of it & its form factor that seems the most appealing & most functional as well compared to other brands & models. So when I decided to build my first rack system, an upgrade to the top-of-the-line G90 was only natural.

antonin_koblizka

Perfect wireless system!

Only one thing - i have to choise channels manualy. Because sometimes is too much wireless devices on stage and they disturb themselfs. But it works! Much better then AKG!
