Description
Furman PL-PLUS C Power Conditioner is a powerful ally in the pursuit of pristine sound. This robust power conditioner couples Furman's exclusive Series Multi-Stage Protection (SMP) technology with their advanced Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT) to provide comprehensive safeguarding against power spikes and surges.
SMP technology is a unique feature of the PL-Plus C, designed to absorb and dissipate damaging transient voltages without sacrificing any internal parts. With a clamping voltage of 188VAC peak, it delivers unparalleled protection, even under the most extreme power fluctuations. This eliminates the need for service calls, downtime, or system dismantling, ensuring uninterrupted music production.
The LiFT, on the other hand, effectively filters out noise and interference from the AC power line, isolating your audio components from EMI and RFI pollution that can degrade sound quality. This linear filtering, with zero leakage to ground, maintains the integrity of the audio signal for optimal performance.
Designed for convenience and versatility, the PL-Plus C features a rugged, rack-mountable chassis with nine rear-panel outlets, two isolated outlet banks to reduce interference, and one front-panel outlet for easy access. An inbuilt LED rack light illuminates rear connections, and the unit's rear-panel voltmeter instantly checks power quality.

It may be a glorified Power Strip w/a fuse, lights and that steadily reads Line Voltage, but every professional Studio or Engineer should have one.
I run an Isolated transformer and a balancing transformer that provides the best quality power possible and cuts the noise from the Master Volume of my Amek Mozart Console to zero where it hissed steadily before. The Furman always stays between 118-122 and is plugged into an UPS Back-Up so the truth is that you can't run a professional studio w/out at least isolating your power w/an Acme Transformer(about 5-6K purchased & installed) w/a separate circuit breaker for your equipment or something of the equivalent. All this said, running underpowered is dangerous for the life of your gear and monitoring w/a Furman PL-PLUS C is a great way to know when to turn your gear off and every redundancy is good even if it's the only one you have. I run Vintage Outboard Gear that I've owned for a long time and my mid-late 60's LA2A only needs a tube every 7-14 months & it gets used 365 days a year.

The Source URL is a rig rundown by PremierGuitar Magazine. PG caught up with current guitarist Tommy Thayer, along with techs Francis and Michael Berger, to dig into all the axes (in some cases, literally), effects, and amps that the band brought out on their 2014 tour with Def Leppard.
"A Furman PL-Plus C keeps the amps powered up while a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power Digital handles the pedals."
