Critic Reviews

Peavey T30, T27, T20 (12T Dec 82)

muzines.co.uk

The Peavey T-27 is highlighted for its unique out-of-phase tone, appealing to country players with a penchant for bright, twinkling sounds. However, its attempt to prioritize this tone leaves individual pickups lacking depth; the neck is metallic, the middle is boxy, and the tail is edgy without much body. While it captures a distinct character, it seems to have inverted the Strat formula by focusing more on the out-of-phase sound rather than building from a solid basic tone. Overall, a mixed bag, appreciated for its specific tonal quest but not without compromises.

Don't get Fender nor Gibson.. GET A PEAVEY T-27 !!!

My 1983 Peavey T-27 it's the perfect guitar. I have owned several guitars thru the past years, and this one is the perfect one for me. Beautiful natural finish, comfortable maple neck, humbuckers and 2 sincle coils. Humbucker can split, and gives you a really RAD tone, kinda like a Fender Mustang tone. Middle pickup it's like a telecaster neck pickup tone and neck pickup for me, its like a Gibson Les Paul humbucker tone, but with more mids and a little bit of treble, but keeping the fat dark sound. It's not that heavy compared to the T-60 in terms of weight. It has a really nice and solid bridge, knobs looks so damn cool, tuners keep your guitar on tune ALL THE TIME! IT'S SO AWESOME! and it's Handcrafted in the USA. But mine also has few modifications that everyone should do! Brass nut and string thru!! For the looks and for the tone ;)
