Critic Reviews

Pyle PDMIC58 Dynamic Microphone Review / Test — Podcastage

podcastage.com

The Pyle PDMIC58 is a budget-friendly alternative to the Shure SM58, offering surprisingly good sound quality and build for just $13. While it excels in isolating sound and mimicking the frequency response of pricier models, it struggles with plosives and might not handle long cable runs well. Ideal for beginner podcasters, it provides solid performance in controlled settings but may lack the durability of its more expensive counterparts. For its price, it's a commendable starter mic.

Rex and the Bass: Pyle PDMIC58 Budget Microphone Review

rexbass.com

The Pyle PDMIC58 is a budget-friendly microphone that closely resembles the Shure SM58 in design but falls short in build quality and weight. It's surprisingly usable for casual gigs, especially when risking more expensive gear isn't an option. While it offers decent sound for its rock-bottom price—often around $12 on Amazon—it comes with a low-quality XLR to ¼-inch cable, and lacks a stand clip or carry bag. Ideal for less critical applications, yet far from a Shure substitute, it’s a practical pick for those on a tight budget or needing expendable gear.

Just fine for the money I spent

This is cheap, but good microphone that I found on Amazon for a really low price. I just use it when I am DJing or need to record myself saying something and then add a bunch of eqs/plugins to make an interesting sounding vocal clip. This is not a mic that you'd want to recording anything serious with though. It is great for what I paid and for what I use it for though.
