In a Mix article, front-of-house engineer for Kings Of Leon Brent Rawlings reveals that while touring for the Only by the Night album, the vocal mics the Followills used are Sennheiser e 935s. Original article can be found [here](http://mixonline.com/live/tourprofiles/audio_kings_leon_2/).more
During the entire MV "JPOP Xfile", you can spot a mic that look similiar to e 935 (or probably a SM58 with different capsule, since 345, the bassist, used that one. (short with blue-ish silver tinted capsule and a black ribbon) here's the timestamps that the mic showed the most clearly: 0:14-0:16 0:23-0:26 0:34-0:36 (the body of the mic showed up the most) 0:40more
"I really like Sennheiser vocal mics and because I’ve worked with them for so long within a couple of seconds I can hear what I need to do with EQ. Some voices just don’t work with certain mics but Sennheiser as a whole has a lot wider range - they sound great with a male or female vocal," says Alt-J's sound engineer, about the e 935 microphones used for Joe Newman's vocals, in [this article](http://www.tpimagazine.com/production-profiles/1961627/altj_create_an_awesome_wave.html).more
Stevie Nicks likes to sing into a Sennheiser 935 dynamic microphone, as do all the backing vocalists. Says Morgan, “With most everyone on in-ears, the amount of off-axis stuff that comes in with a dynamic is significantly less than with a condenser, and it tends to give you better separation in the ear mixes and you also have a lot less random high-end leakage.”more
Great for singing. Catches all/any dynamics. Do not cup the mic. Run this through a noise gate, 80hz+ low cut & slight compression to sound brilliant. fun fact: Hayley Williams of Paramour used this a lot during the RIOT days. This is the mic she had wrapped up in orange tape & toured with.
Highly regarded microphone and I was looking for something to supplement my AKG D5 for others to sing with. After a great deal of research I purchased this at the Guitar Center in Raleigh.
