Features and functionality

  • The Sonuus G2M is a monophonic 1/4" to DIN MIDI converter, requiring detached playing for optimal performance. The current model reportedly tracks better than its predecessor.

    Source

Sonuus G2M V2 & i2M Musicport

soundonsound.com

The Sonuus i2M Musicport is a promising pitch-to-MIDI converter that excels in simplicity and affordability, though it comes with the limitation of being monophonic. It offers fast conversion times, especially in higher registers, making it suitable for real-time playing. While it struggles with bass in lower octaves, playing higher up the neck can mitigate latency issues. The i2M's accompanying software enhances functionality with zoning and multiple output streams, providing versatile MIDI configurations. However, it's crucial to set up your MIDI voice source correctly to avoid misjudgments like octave errors. Overall, if you can work with its monophonic nature, the i2M Musicport delivers reliable and clean MIDI output, making it a strong choice for those seeking straightforward pitch-to-MIDI conversion without additional hardware.

The best Pitch-to-MIDI interface on the market!

I use this guy in conjunction with a Shadow 4001 transducer I modified & merged with a small Getaria wireless transmitter/receiver system. It flawlessly tracks my sax playing via the transducer. The Sonuus gives you full complete control of the pitch, volume going into the 1/4" input, and allows you to set up the precise ADSR response coming out of the USB output for controlling VSTs. The unit is firmware-upgradable and comes with a full-featured onscreen GUI app for use and aid in programming ADSR and MIDI parameters.
