the original wheels of steel

first of all, the classic style of tech 12's are unmatched. these are the original wheels of steel. it is extremely heavy, 26 lbs, but is built like a rock and everything on this can be repaired or replaced. i need to send mine out to fix a bad right channel issue that requires i jiggle the ground wire a bit until the AC hum is gone, but the experience of handling this thing, adjusting the pitch to get the strobe dots staying still, balancing the tonearm, lowering the cue, is unmatched. there is a whole ritual with using this thing that i cherish. don't bother with an automatic belt drive with a built-in preamp. you want something like this for the full experience of cuing up a record. love it.

I managed to grab a pair of these right around the time they were discontinued (although I heard there is a petition to bring them back that Panasonic is actually paying attention to... fingers crossed), and I love them. I learned how to DJ on a set that a friend had, so it is really cool to be able to have some in-home to practice on instead of having to use a controller of some kind. I use them for sampling old records quite a bit as well, and they are pretty essential for crate diggers. Plus, there isn't really a better feeling than spinning on vinyl. It just feels so much more authentic.

The classic!

As an old-school dj with thousands of vinyl records crowding the shelves, it would be weird not to own a set of Technics 1200s. This is still the gold standard of dj turntables.

the best turntable out there. I use this primarily for scratching and for sometimes listening. handles great, the general feel of scratching on a 1200 is a joy and its reliability is legendary

Technics 1200 MK2 Turntable

I use a single 1200 primarily to manipulate audio/word samples during my songs with Traktor. I also use it like a instrument with various sounds and chords with custom key shift mapping on my mixer, or the pitch slider and cross fader. It's part DJ tool, part unbridled instrument.

Dream Come True

This is the turntable all DJs chase after. It took me 15 years to finally get my hands on one and now I have it as well as a 1210 MK2. The next upgrade is a matched set of MK5s or the new Pioneer turntables that are to take their place.

Two heavily modded

Got these modded by Turntable Pimp: Mk5 pitch faders and removal of quarz lock Respray of tonearm base and deck case to Matte Black Internal Grounds Upgraded RCA cables Got the original Mk2 tonearms (one dating back to '82) with Ortofon Dj S cartridges and stylus. Great for scratching, sampling. Anything.

The rolls royce of the turntable.

Solid and reliable, I have been using them for over 20 years and counting. I tested many other turntables but the technics mk2s suffer no rivals.

There really isn't much more I can say about a legend. Everything you sample from this turntable will hit super hard in the mix. Don't even try to fake it with substitutes.
