The best of the best.
Bought mine for 500 GBP for the pair in brand new condition with road cases and perfectly intact lids in 2007 while in London for a year. Brought them back on the plane and kept them in mind condition while still having them set up. Perfect compliment to my SL-1200 MKII Silver pair which are also the best of the best, but have been through a few battles and trips too and from hell and gone. Still rock solid. You can't beat these decks.

There are reasons why some gear are seen as the industry standard, this so happens to be one of those!

@simfonik I'm ashamed to say that, currently, I do not have a record player of any kind or quality. My last one took a crap on me (because it was crap to start with) and I haven't replaced it. Really, just because I'm not a vinyl DJ or anything and in a desperate move, sold almost all my vinyl last year :tear:

classic of best
LP is last hq-item. The deck design was primarily to create the best audio production for listening, but the aim to get very solid control over wow and flutter, in addition to maximum prevention of resonance from the sound produced, meant it became the primary turntable for installation into nightclubs and other venues where the sound level precluded the use of other turntables with similar capabilities.

Iconic
Learned how to DJ on 2 of these in 1997-1998. Still have 2 of them setup in my studio now. Hardly ever touch them anymore to be honest, but they still work, sound and look great :) Gotta love vinyl!

Technics 1210's last forever. I bought my first set in 1992, sold them to a friend in 1995 and they're still going strong. The new set I bought in 1995 haven't skipped a beat.

Dreams Come True
This is the turntable all DJs chase after. It took me 15 years to finally get my hands on one and now I have it as well as a 1200 MK2. The next upgrade is a matched set of MK5s or the new Pioneer turntables that are to take their place.

the quest for a legendary turntable
Before having this turntable, I searched everywhere to find it ! The technics mk2 is a legend !

While there is no text visible in the photo on either of the two turntables (although in some other photos from alternate angles the Technics logo can just barely be made out from the back), It can be confidently assumed that these are 1200/1210 MK2s due to that particular model being the only one readily available in matte black in Europe at that time.
