Traps A400 Kit review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Traps A-400 Drumset offers a compact, portable design that's perfect for practice and rehearsals, but it's hampered by its subpar cymbals that undermine its overall quality. While the shell-less construction allows for easy transport and decent sound, the included brass cymbals do little to impress, often leading to the misconception that it’s merely a beginner's kit. The kit's strengths lie in its sturdy rack and easy setup, making it a suitable option for those with limited space. However, the tinny cymbals are the weakest link, detracting from an otherwise strong starter package.

Traps A400 review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

Traps A400 is a remarkably affordable and portable drum kit that impresses with its value, offering a full setup for under £300. While its lightweight design enhances mobility, it does sacrifice projection, especially with the toms. The sound quality evokes a vintage, heavily damped vibe reminiscent of the 1970s, making it suitable for various settings. Setup is straightforward, making it user-friendly for beginners. However, the plastic snare might not please purists seeking a more traditional sound. Ultimately, for those prioritizing portability and price over high-end projection, the Traps A400 is a compelling choice.

Unbelievable sound and light and compact for travel!!!

I scooped a box of the drums a few months ago with some of the electronic drums, all for $5 at Sam Ash Hollywood's drum shop. I had to find an additional Floor Tom to shift the toms to be lower in tone as desired as well as the rack system.

Luckily, while searching the FACEBOOKERY MarketPlace a few weeks ago, I found a full A-400 kit, complete with Travel Bag for $300 and the guy was 20 minutes from my home!!!

I have since been working with this kit, having modified it with the deeper tom selection and have headlined a festival just before we split town to do a 3-week tour!!! I was able to carry all the drums and the rack myself in one go with my laptop stand and linux netbook & audio interface and my tech carried the bag with the og hi-hat stand, throne, stick bag with fan, snare & stand.

Super easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
