First impressions aren't everything
This is a product that includes recordings of some D50, SY77, M1 and VFX presets, organized in an admittedly intuitive way. Obviously, being sampled rather than recreated, you can't modify parameters other than a volume and filter envelope, and some basic effects.
However, you do run this in the UVI workstation (which you have to), you gain access to the stacking feature, allowing you to stack 16 different presets together (presumably from any product, so if you have this and another UVI sample pack you can combine them).
This is really great for complex sounds that would otherwise require me to load 2 or 3 different VSTs or sample libraries - get that sparkly D50 sheen for an attack transient, then leave the sustain to a creamy SY77 sound, and possibly have something else going with the M1 or VFX sounds, it's honestly great, and I get to do that within one instance that's not that hard to figure out.
It's very much "pick it, select sounds together, and enjoy it", while also being a lot faster to do that than to select 3 different presets in 3 different VSTs or whatever. I just recently discovered this feature but I've been having such fun with it, as before I just thought, "oh, this isn't that great, I want a PROPER recreation". I guess I grew out of that phase and just want stuff that sounds good, and this provides just that, so that's a win in my book.

Presently, I'd say the Roland software synth (D-50) and the KORG software synth (M1) easily surpass this thanks to the flexibility and the more exquisite detail you can gleam from an accurate emulation of the real thing vs a sample library.
