Geoff Farina's Gear
Geoff Farina is associated with the Klon Centaur Gold Horsie pedal, known for contributing to the ultra-clean, responsive sound characteristic of Karate's music. There is speculation that he was involved in building some of the early models of this iconic overdrive pedal. A user-uploaded photo on TinyPic supports this connection.
You can get a closer look at it at a few points in this video, for example around 3:50.
In this interview with Tape Op, Geoff states that he uses 1968 Fender Twin amplifiers. He goes on to say that he owns another within three serial numbers of the other. He modified these amps to improve their sound as he was sick of the crummy CBS era quality. These amplifiers led him to discover a great deal about the powers of modification and engineered his signature sound.

Geoff Farina uses a Boss DD-5 Digital Delay as the final delay unit in his signal chain. This pedal is likely featured on the "Some Boots" album, particularly on the first track, "Original Spies," where Geoff employs it for spaced-out chords and self-oscillation during the breakdown. The photo from TinyPic confirms this setup.
Geoff Farina's pedalboard in later years features the Blackstone Mosfet Overdrive 2SV3, as shown in a user-uploaded photo on TinyPic. It remains unclear if this pedal was used during his time with Karate.
