In this GuitarPlayer article, Mike Rutherford is seen playing the Squier Bullet Strat HT for some of the Genesi's 2021 The Last Domino? tour. The article notes that even though Mike Rutherford has a large collection of pricey guitars, in the forementioned tour he is seen many times with the Squier Bullet Strat HT, which can be found for under USD 200. As the story goes, Mike Rutherford, who lives in Surrey, England, owns a house in Cape Town, South Africa. During the 2020-2021 pandemic, he was stuck in Cape Town for several weeks without a guitar. Since the tour was starting soon and he needed to re-learn the setlist, he went to a local music store and bought a couple of Squiers. When the tour kicked off, he naturally added the guitars to his gear.
In this interview with Guitar World, Mike says:
And I’ve got one of those Fender Acoustasonic Strats, the little ones, which is really nice. I mean, it’s not as good as a real acoustic guitar to be honest, but for stage it’s very easy and friendly.
Mike has been using this guitar since the Turn it on again tour in 2007

In this Guitar World article of October 14, 2021 about Mike Rutherford's favourite Squier Bullet Strat.
“Sitting at home in Cape Town plugged into his Blackstar 3-watt amp, Mike just fell in love with [his new Squier Bullet Strat] playing along to his laptop and relearning all the Genesis songs. That was him for almost all of the first lockdown because he wasn’t allowed out of Cape Town."
In the concert film "Genesis - When In Rome - Come Rain Or Shine HD," there is a clear visual at the timestamp 59:14 showing Mike Rutherford utilizing the pedal half of the Moog Taurus II as a MIDI controller for a Moog Source, as documented by the source provider, Jurand J. This evidence confirms that Rutherford incorporated the Moog Taurus II into his musical setup.
Mike Rutherford used a Marshall Supa Fuzz pedal on the song, as detailed in a Mixonline article by Tim Morse. The article mentions Rutherford's use of a "Marshall fuzz" through an Acoustic amp to achieve a distinctive sound. Given that the Marshall Supa Fuzz was the only fuzz pedal made by Marshall in the 1970s, we can confidently conclude this was the specific gear used.

As noted in an interview with GuitarPlayer, he stated, "I went stereo straight away, sending my treble pickup through an [Electro-Harmonix] Screaming Bird treble booster and into a WEM amp with four 10” speakers."
Mike Rutherford has suggested the use of Rotosound RS66LD Swing Bass 45-105 strings, stating, "I use Rotosound round-wound bass strings, and they offer a lot of tonal possibilities." Given that Rotosound's most popular roundwound design is the Swing bass set, this makes total sense.

On the Genesis album, Mike Rutherford had used in his LM-1 to program the drum beat for "Mama". The LM-1 was fed through a Fender amp and heavily distorted - this was mixed with the direct signal from the Linn to give the sound some character. Linn percussion can be heard on "Taking It All Too Hard".
