Molly Miller's Gear
(From Guitar World, first number, 2023, page 20)
Miller runs a simple setup that keeps her signal and her tones clean, leaning on the 1978 Gibson ES-335 she’s had since she was 17 and a relic Telecaster as her main guitars in the Trio.
My ’78 335 is my baby. If I only played that guitar for the rest of my life, I would be fine. Emotionally I’m too attached to it. Sometimes I need a little more twang. I just had a new neck put on my Tele. I also just got a goldtop. Pedals make you play differently, and guitars make you play differently. My 335 is like my limb. There’s something to “growing” with an instrument. New instruments feel stiff to me. It’s rare for me to pick up an instrument and say, “Whoa, this feels great.” The wear on the instrument helps so much. I’ve had my 335 since I was 16. I feel like I grew with that instrument. My wear marks are on the neck and we know each other. It’s an intimate relationship. We understand each other on a deeper level than any of the other guitars.

In the Vintage Guitar interview, it is confirmed that the guitar is a 2008 Fender Telecaster '52 reissue.
It’s a 2008 ’52 reissue. When I picked it up, I was like, “This is the one!” I love it so much. It’s fun, and now that it has a new neck, it makes it even more mine. I like hinting at country music and I think Teles are the most-versatile instrument. Most 335s can be kind of midrangey, but with Teles I can get such a warm, beautiful sound. I love the twang, and they’re the easiest to deal with.
(From Guitar World interview, January 2023 issue, page 20). Miller also wrote a couple of articles for Line 6, including the one about the famous woman guitarists.

I love me some EarthQuaker Devices! I have been able to get a warm and round overdrive from pedals like the Dunes and Plumes, a full and lush reverb from the Dispatch Master (my desert island pedal that I never leave home without!), and my playing has been taken to new exploratory and creative places because of inspiring pedals like the Afterneath. Not only does EarthQuaker Devices make great pedals, but they also have a team of great humans that make me proud to represent such a wonderful company.

Molly Miller shares her enthusiasm for EarthQuaker Devices, highlighting the creative inspiration she derives from their pedals. Among her favorites is the Rainbow Machine, which she uses to explore new sonic territories. Her appreciation extends to other EarthQuaker pedals, such as the Dunes, Plumes, Dispatch Master, and Afterneath, all of which contribute to her distinctive sound. Miller expresses pride in representing the company, not only for their innovative gear but also for their exceptional team. This information is detailed in her feature on EarthQuaker Devices' website.

Coming from my afro-beat funk background, I love wah; I have a Fulltone Clyde. I also have an A3 Stompbox Volume pedal, a Voodoo Lab Tremolo, a TC Electronic PolyTune, and a Keeley Oxblood Overdrive and Magnetic Echo. I also have an A3 Stompbox Awesome Drive. I’m a big fan of EarthQuaker Devices – I have their Dunes Overdrive, Dispatch Master – and a Chase Bliss Audio Dark World. I love my pedalboard, but I want to get another one that’s even weirder (laughs).
