Description

Meet the Keeley Magnetic Echo Delay, the perfect companion for the discerning guitarist seeking authentic tape echo sounds. Simulating vintage tube tape echo, this pedal uses the revered PT-2399 chip and a dash of modulation to create warm, guitar-friendly delay tones.

With Magnetic Echo Delay, you get to experience the charm of Lo-Fi delay, filtered echo response, and just the right amount of modulation. The modulation, also known as "Wow and Flutter" in the tape world, is a subtle pitch shift or wavering that occurs as the simulated tape is pulled across the heads. This is similar to the modulation used in Keeley's renowned Seafoam Chorus, adding a soft wavering of pitch to the echoes' trails.

The Magnetic Echo comes with a straightforward set of controls for the delay – Time, Regen, and Level, along with the "Wow and Flutter" controls – Depth and Rate. These allow you to craft vintage or uniquely modern tones. The Delay Time control lets you set the length of your repeats between 40ms and 600ms, ideal for creating classic, vintage delay sounds. The Regen control adjusts the number of repeats, allowing for anything from a single slap back echo to a runaway, self-oscillating echo. The Level control determines the mix and how loud you want your echoes to be.

Key Features:

  • PT-2399 chip for authentic tape echo simulation
  • Modulation feature for unique "Wow and Flutter" effects
  • Simple, intuitive controls for delay - Time, Regen, and Level
  • Depth and Rate controls for modulation
  • Delay Time control range: 40ms to 600ms
  • Regen control for adjusting number of repeats
  • Level control for adjusting echo mix
  • Ideal for creating vintage and modern tones

Coming from my afro-beat funk background, I love wah; I have a Fulltone Clyde. I also have an A3 Stompbox Volume pedal, a Voodoo Lab Tremolo, a TC Electronic PolyTune, and a Keeley Oxblood Overdrive and Magnetic Echo. I also have an A3 Stompbox Awesome Drive. I’m a big fan of EarthQuaker Devices – I have their Dunes Overdrive, Dispatch Master – and a Chase Bliss Audio Dark World. I love my pedalboard, but I want to get another one that’s even weirder (laughs).
