The Mockingbird had "a maple base" with EMG pickups, Grover Rotomatic Imperial tuners, and simplified electronics. Quite unlike the standard Mockingbird, Paul's version had binding on the neck and headstock, parallelogram pearl inlays on the fretboard, and a Schaller 455 bridge. It seems to have been rarely used by Paul Stanley during the early stages of the 'Creature of the Night' tour and subsequently by Vinnie Vincent, until Jackson Guitars sent him the famed gold flake Randy Rhoads custom shop model.
