Description

The Devo Cloud Electric Guitar by Eastwood

The Eastwood Devo Cloud Electric Guitar is a modern re-creation of the bizarre, cloud-shaped instrument originally used by Bob Mothersbaugh of Devo. Designed as part of Eastwood’s tribute series, it captures the unusual aesthetics of the original while refining it into a practical, high-quality instrument. Despite its eccentric look, the guitar offers solid playability with a comfortable neck and versatile tonal options. It features coil-tapped humbuckers and an onboard active treble boost (“WarpDrive”) for a wide palette of sounds, from clean tones to aggressive overdrive. The model omits some of the original’s experimental electronics but keeps the spirit intact with modern reliability. Overall, it’s a niche but highly expressive guitar aimed at collectors, alternative players, and fans of unconventional designs.

The Eastwood Devo Cloud is the Guitar That Should Have Looked Like a Potato | GuitarPlayer

guitarplayer.com

The Eastwood Devo Cloud guitar is a quirky nod to Bob Mothersbaugh's custom design, capturing the essence of its cloud-like shape with an intriguing playability. While it misses the potato shape and original distortion circuit, it compensates with a sleek WarpDrive treble booster, versatile pickup configurations, and a lightweight mahogany body. The guitar's unique aesthetic and sound versatility make it a standout for fans of eccentric instruments. At $749.95, it’s a steal for a limited-edition piece, offering both visual appeal and solid musical performance.
