Description
Step back into the vibrant world of 1970s and '80s sonic exploration with the Eventide TriceraChorus pedal. Inspired by the legendary Tri-choruses of the era, this pedal combines rich Bucket Brigade-style chorusing with Eventide's iconic MicroPitch detuning to create deep, otherworldly modulations. The TriceraChorus is packed with three distinct chorus voices—Left, Center, and Right—each capable of being detuned, generating a lush stereophonic landscape that envelops your sound in a dreamy wash.
Explore the three meticulously crafted modes: "Chorus" for a classic stompbox vibe, "Chorale" for complex, swirling textures reminiscent of vintage rackmount units, and "Vibrato" for a pulsating pitch shift that dances through your mix. Engage the innovative "Swirl" footswitch to unlock psychedelic flanging and phasing, pushing your sound into realms unknown.
Whether you're conjuring up syrupy textures on a guitar, bass, synth, or even vocals, the TriceraChorus offers unparalleled versatility. With MIDI compatibility and the Eventide Device Manager, your creative potential is virtually limitless, providing access to a treasure trove of presets and customizable parameters. Absolute disrespect to the tri-chorus sound. Don't waste your time.
You know, it's tough trying to secure tri-chorus effects nowadays - a lot of the tri-chorus units are hard to secure here in Toronto, Canada, and rack units are starting to die off as people go towards pedals or modelers.
So I decided to give the Tricerachorus a try to see if it can hold up to today's standards of effects.
Honestly, I really, truly wanted to love this pedal. The features are there with three mix knobs (just like the regular tri-chorus effects should) and a detune built in. However, in reality, you're asking for trouble. The chorus effect sounds extremely flange-like that I just couldn't get it to sound like the authentic rack tri-chorus unit. And in high-gain situations? Oh boy... don't even get me started. This pedal is absolutely unusable for the 80's tone.
Now you guys can argue "But Pete Thorn managed to get it to sound good~!"; however, guess what? YOU'RE NOT PETE THORN! You will NOT be able to dial in the sounds you want. Avoid this pedal like the plague if you actually care about getting nice tri-chorus tones.
Usually Eventide is well-known for their studio quality effects; however, in this situation, they seriously Line 6'd the hell out of the tri-chorus.
Want something that sounds better? Go with a Strymon Mobius. It'll give you far better options for great-sounding chorus effects than this piece of garbage.

You really, really need to revise your reviews. Not quite being able to get the sound you want isn't 1-star. Liking something isn't 5-star. There's lots of room to score in between. Not liking something and giving a critical review can be helpful, but this really isn't in any way. All I can gather from this is you don't like it. I'm still not clear why you don't like it and what your specific use case is. All I got is a rant about it being "unusable", which given that other guitarists do use the pedal I know is untrue. Try and make your reviews a bit more helpful to fellow consumers. Be specific about criticisms rather than just slinging mud. That will help others make more informed purchases.

Strymon Mobius will offer more effects, more options for chorus sounds, and far better tones that will blow the doors off of this excuse of a tri-chorus pedal.
