Description

The Fender Custom Jazz/Precision Bass is where heritage meets versatility. This unique instrument combines the best of two iconic worlds, delivering a bass that feels as comfortable in a jazz club as it does in a rock arena. With its hand-wound '57 Precision Bass split-coil pickup, this bass offers a rich spectrum of tonal possibilities, from the deep, thunderous lows to the clear, punchy mids that define Fender's legacy. The pickup is strategically positioned to ensure that every note you play cuts through the mix with clarity and depth.

Crafted with precision, the bass features a sleek Jazz Bass neck, providing a faster, more agile playing experience. Its body is made from select alder, renowned for its balanced resonance and sustain. The relic treatment gives it a well-loved, vintage aesthetic, while the nitrocellulose lacquer finish allows the wood to breathe, enhancing your sound with natural warmth.

Whether you're laying down a groove in the studio or taking center stage, the Fender Custom Jazz/Precision Bass adapts effortlessly, offering a dynamic sound palette and a comfortable, familiar feel. This is more than just a bass; it's a fusion of history, craftsmanship, and modern playability.

Mark used several of these basses during the Enema of the State era, most notably at Daytona Beach and Big Day Out. They are different from his signature bass because they have a chrome control plate and different style inlays. Mark can also be seen holding the red bass, which was tuned down a step, he played at Daytona Beach in 2000 on his page on Seymour Duncan's website (https://www.seymourduncan.com/artist/mark-hoppus?__uuid_ref=5b0ed3f464f9b).
