Features and functionality
-
The Fender Passport Event S2 has a dedicated sub output, suitable for larger venues when paired with a subwoofer.
Source -
The system includes Bluetooth, enhancing flexibility for rehearsals and home studio use.
Source -
The 'MONO OUT' on the Fender Passport Event provides a pre-master mixed output, unaffected by the MASTER VOLUME, suitable for connecting to a house system.
Source -
The 'SUB OUT' may have a low-pass filter, as indicated ambiguously in the manual, potentially affecting its use for non-subwoofer connections.
Source -
Users experience excessive output from the Mono Out, requiring both the mixer and powered monitor to be set at 25% to avoid feedback.
Source
Setup and maintenance
-
Speakers should be placed at least 3 feet apart, ideally 10 feet away, for optimal sound unfolding.
Source -
To connect to both a house system and IEMs, a simple ‘Y’ cable can split the analog output, allowing dual connections without additional equipment.
Source -
A DI box with a pad is recommended between the Fender Passport and a powered monitor to manage excessive signal output that can cause feedback.
Source
Use cases and applications
-
Effective for small to medium venues like bars and outdoor gigs, but may struggle in large, narrow spaces like a "concrete pen."
Source -
Works well as a mid-field monitor, with raised mids and heights, making it suitable for neoclassical performances in school auditoriums.
Source -
In-ear monitors (IEMs) are suggested as a better alternative for softer sources to reduce feedback and improve audience experience.
Source
User experience
-
Owners recommend not using the system at under 25% or over 75% amplification to avoid sound distortion.

Fantastic Compact PA for the price!
Multiple inputs to provide sound across many vocalists or other XLR inputs along with instrument line and bluetooth makes this a priceless deal. The two speakers are loud and my bundle came with tall stands for them. Highly recommend for small venues like bars and coffee shops.
