Pro Mobile - The Magazine for Mobile DJs

promobile.org.uk

The QSC K8.2 2-Way Powered Speaker impresses with its rugged build and classy aesthetics, making it ideal for musicians, DJs, and event production. With 2000W of power, it delivers clear mid-range and punchy lows, though it may lack volume in larger venues compared to its bigger siblings. The built-in DSP and customizable presets are a boon for fine-tuning sound, making it versatile for various settings. While heavier than some 8” speakers, its solid construction ensures durability. Perfect for studio work, live streaming, and small gigs, the K8.2 is a powerful yet portable choice, though adding a subwoofer could enhance its performance in larger spaces. Overall, QSC delivers a remarkable speaker in a compact package.

Review: QSC K.2 Series Powered Loudspeakers - Church Production Magazine

churchproduction.com

The QSC K.2 Series Powered Loudspeakers impress with their powerful 2,000-watt output, remarkable sound clarity, and ergonomic design features like a locking AC plug and dual pole mounts. The speakers deliver exceptional bass response even without a subwoofer, and their Directivity-Matched Transition technology ensures consistent frequency reproduction. While the DSP presets provide useful sound customization, some options like "Live Bright" may add unwanted harshness depending on the setting. A minor downside is a noticeable delay when powering on due to the DSP system. Despite this, the speakers are highly recommended for their functionality and sound quality, making the hardest part of testing them the need to return them.

Ideal for corporate gigs, its lightweight and sleek ABS build, alongside a user-friendly DSP interface, offer flexibility for various applications, including stage monitoring. While the updated pole mount provides a more stable setup, the single top handle may hinder transportability for some users. Overall, a reliable choice for those seeking high-quality sound and adaptability.

Best PA Speakers I've Owned

I've had these speakers for 4 years now. They've been used at countless gigs, from outdoor events to indoor clubs and parties. I've also used them as a DJ booth monitor in a loud club, and even on a boat. These are incredibly robust, incredibly loud and clear and I haven't had a single problem with them over the years. They still sound like new after all this time. I like the 8" version of these over the 10" and 12" because they're smaller and lighter but have the same amp and internals as the larger speakers. They have a variety of connections on the back and can even accept RCA inputs. If you have an outlet, you could take one of these and plug your phone into it and have an instant party. I would like to get 2 more of these for fill at larger events but I've run events with just the 2 and a sub and been fine. Highly recommended. One of my favorite pieces of gear.
