Unlock the potential of your sonic explorations with the Grayscale Permutation, a modular synthesizer that elegantly combines unpredictability with precision. Drawing inspiration from the classic Turing Machine, this module brings a modern twist to vintage analog randomization circuits, such as the legendary Buchla 266 "Source of Uncertainty". At its heart lies a digital shift register, engineered to generate complex CV and gate patterns that dance between chaotic and controlled sequences.

The Grayscale Permutation stands out with its ability to lock patterns into repeating loops, preserving your creative moments across power cycles—a feature that proves indispensable for recording and live performances. Dive deeper into customization with dedicated pulse outputs for each bit of the shift register and CV inputs for every parameter, offering an expansive playground for sonic sculptors.

The optional expander module, Variant, further enriches your experience by introducing a mixing console paradigm. This innovative addition allows gate voltages from the first 8 steps to be dynamically mixed, shifting with each clock pulse, thus opening up a world of dynamic variations and rich textures.
