Description

The Unique Guitar Made in Japan by Groovin’

The Groovin Unique Guitar was part of the experimental “Groovin’ by Morris” lineup produced by Morris Guitars during the 1980s and early 1990s. The “Unique Guitar” name was often used informally by collectors to describe the unusual hybrid instruments in the Groovin’ series, which combined elements of electric, acoustic, and nylon-string guitars into unconventional stage-friendly designs. Many of these guitars were inspired by instruments like the Gibson Chet Atkins solid-body classical models and were aimed at professional performers looking for feedback-resistant amplified acoustic tones. The Groovin’ models became known for their Japanese craftsmanship, slim electric-style necks, onboard electronics, and distinctive appearance. Because production numbers were limited and documentation is scarce, exact specifications can vary slightly between models. Today, Groovin’ guitars are considered rare vintage Japanese instruments appreciated by collectors and fusion/jazz guitarists.
