Description
Introducing the Epiphone 1964 Texan, a harmonious blend of historic charm and modern innovation. Inspired by the iconic '60s Texan, this acoustic-electric guitar is steeped in music history, having been the instrument of choice for legendary artists like Paul McCartney and Peter Frampton.
Constructed with a solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany body, the Epiphone Texan promises a rich, balanced tone that resonates with both nostalgia and clarity. The '60s SlimTaper neck design adds to the playability, ensuring a comfortable grip and smooth transitions between chords and solos.

The Gibson Interview: Paul Weller Michael Wright | 10.29.2010
In this interview Peter Frampton discusses the guitars he was able to save after the Nashville flood destroyed most of his guitars. At 4:36 in the video he says:
... And also that Texan. The '64 Texan. You know, I bought it in '68 secondhand in London. I needed a good acoustic for Humble Pie. The road crew went out and came back with this from Denmark Street or something. Yeah, and then it became like my only acoustic.
Brian is playing this Epiphone 1964 Texan in his live performance of The Front Bottom's "Vacation Town"
In the live performance by The Byrds, Gene Clark is seen with an Epiphone Texan acoustic, which he possibly owns. His Texan would not appear again in other Byrds performances.
Starting in 2011, Bugo used this acoustic guitar very often, for promo video and live performances.
Brad shows his Epiphone Elitist 1964 Texan on the Offerings Experience DVD. That's where he tells us: "I've been told by Third Day's engineer that this is the best sounding guitar ever plugged in. It sounds really, really good. I'm pretty proud of that. It sounds great by itself, it sounds awesome by itself and the fact that it sounds good plugged in, it's a bonus." Brad played this guitar in the studio, but also live. In fact, he played it a lot during Third Day's Christmas Offerings tour.
Brad probably had the "E" emblem removed from the pickguard. Also, the inlays of Brad's Texan are reverse when you compare it to other Epiphone Elitist 1964 Texans, like this one.
