Crafted for the discerning bassist, this instrument promises a formidable blend of aesthetics and engineering. The 5-piece Wenge/Bubinga neck provides unparalleled stability and comfort, making it a joy to play whether you're in the studio or on stage. It's not just about looks; this neck is designed to withstand the test of time, resisting warping and maintaining its straightness. The rosewood fingerboard with abalone oval inlays adds a touch of sophistication to its appearance.
At the heart of the SR1206 are two Nordstrand Big Single pickups that offer a wide tonal palette, from deep, punchy lows to crisp, clear highs. Good sounding but very problematic bass
The bass is very beautiful and sounds incredibly beautiful but... the neck of the Ibanez SR1206 is much heavier than the body and constantly falls down. I have to prop the bass up against the wall to play comfortably. The switches break all the time. And it's not just my problem. It's hard to find this model with the original switches on the secondary market because they break on everyone. Gotoh tuning machines have their own problems. The thing is that there is a small rubber washer inside the tuning machine. And it is prone to destruction. This happened to my bass guitar. The peg does not work without the rubber washer. On the plus side, you can achieve absolutely any sound thanks to the excellent preamp. This bass has a nice crunchy sound. Thanks to flexible settings, you can make its sound soft or very angry. When overdriven, this bass guitar literally growls. Despite all the advantages, I am forced to part with this guitar in the near future and replace it with something else.
