My first ever bass, bought used at the store for like 150€. At the time I had no idea what a bass was, I just needed one for recording, so I couldn't care less for looks, styles (and also sounds). Used it for all my songs and little jams for a decade, then I switched to the (inferior but nicer) SX Jazz.
It's.... ok I guess? Not a big fan of the shape, I guess it's more for metal, maybe? Mine is in black and has a red AC/DC sticker I never bothered to remove. Is this thing active? I never changed the 9V battery, never turned a screw on it.
I took very little care of it, it's a bit beaten, and in one point a little chunk of the fretboard came off in the edge. Sorry Ibanez sr300. It's now confined in my studio inside a body bag.

A great bass for metal music.
This is the first musical instrument I've ever had. The body is very slim, the neck as well, and although the over all weight is not that light.. the Ibanez sr300 feels so good when holding it. However, keep in mind : upgrading it, its a great issue. You will not be able to find good upgrade parts easily. Pick-ups sound very nice for a starter and intermediate bass guitar.

Good bass to start with
What can I say, this bass has its + and -. The overall feeling is kinda like the higher SDGR models, but the wood is cheaper and brighter. Electronics are nothing to brag about aswell, but then again it is a good one for the money. The neck is slim and fast, and it is good to go right from the box. Good deal for a newcomer.

A great first bass choice.
This is my first bass guitar so I can't rate it as a experienced user of many basses and clearly it probably doesn't compare to much more expensive basses, but I do love the thinner neck profile and I did compare it to the SR200 and this just feels like a big step up in quality over it for not a lot of extra cash.
If you want a starter bass I would highly recommend the SR300.

Versatile bass and extremely cheap
This bass is extremely well made and is one of the most versatiles that I've ever heard. The active pickups plus the bass and treble eq preamp make for a lot of sound shaping before even touching the amp. The neck feels great and you can reach the higher frets with no problems thanks to the double cutaway. Battery life is really long, lasted me a couple years.
