Ibanez SR250 Bass Guitar Review - Beginner Guitar HQ

beginnerguitarhq.com

The Ibanez SR250 bass guitar impresses as a mid-level instrument with a professional feel, boasting versatile, punchy sound and active pickups—a rarity at its price point. Its ergonomic design and lightweight body offer smooth playability, ideal for intermediate players. However, its complexity might overwhelm beginners, and the use of nato wood is a slight letdown. Still, with its sleek build and solid performance, the SR250 stands out as a top choice for budget-conscious musicians seeking quality without compromise. For sheer value and versatility, it's a standout in the affordable bass market.

SR250 Review: Feels good, plays great, and sounds great. Can't really complain except... | Ibanez | Bass Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Ibanez SR250 punches above its weight class, delivering impressive sound versatility with active humbucking pickups that cater to a range of tones. Its playability is enhanced by a fast, thin neck and solid build quality, making it a reliable choice for gigging. While the stock pickups perform well, there's room for customization, such as swapping the blender knob for a 3-way switch, to suit personal preferences. Despite minor quibbles with the pickup selection feature, this bass is a steal for its price, offering great value for budding and experienced bassists alike.

Great Starter Bass

Got this bass as my first bass. It has a smooth neck and a great versatile active EQ. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. My specific bass has a few buzzy spots but I cant complain. Great bass.

Luke Weiler of Positive Mental Trip has played a white Ibanez SR250 bass on all Positive Mental Trip studio recordings since “the duchess of funk” Alana Orr left the band in 2014. Luke had observed Alana and her style which he very much digged on “change your mind” (2012) and took a few lessons off her while she was part of PMT for those 2 years. Always enjoying playing bass as much as guitar and drums luke began recording his own basslines in 2015 and released “the black and white album” in 2017 which he played all basslines on. It is said he has played all bass lines on current demo versions soon to be polished album versions on the 2018-2019 “Love Never Dies” recording sessions.
