An impressive variation of an 1176
after having this a while and putting it through it's paces it's served me well, perhaps it has a bit less "colour" than it's inspiration but otherwise functionally identical and the difference is pretty much negligable it can get a bit noisy when driven hard but when used correctly delivers very pleasing results built like a tank too :)

I feel a shootout coming on, I'll buy one of these and maybe a seventeen, wouldn't mind a purple and a WES.... I have a bluey and a warm.... would you watch a clone shootout that ignores the original Urei and UA reissue? Just a 'take it for what it is' shootout on snare, vocal, bass etc.... "will this affordable gear solve dynamics problems in your hybrid or analog home studio?"

WOW!
For the price it's a great way too get hands-on-control and analog compression in your home studio. It may not be enough for Pros, but for guys like me with just a home studio the KT-76 is almost perfect. Because it's a little bit noisy it's not perfect. But the typical Urei-sound is there, and that's what counts.
