Build quality

  • Some owners report newer versions of the Z623 have decreased quality, with visual differences and weaker sound compared to earlier models.

    Source
  • Some users report minor movement in the RCA connector on the subwoofer, which seems normal but could potentially lead to concerns about long-term durability.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

    Source
  • It's suggested to monitor the RCA connection for increased looseness over time to prevent potential damage while under warranty.

    Source

User experience

  • Owners with older units report excellent longevity, with some lasting over 8 years and continuing to perform well.

    Source

Software and compatibility

  • HDMI audio extractors allow for TV volume control through the remote, whereas optical connections require manual volume adjustments on the speakers.

Critic Reviews

Logitech Z623 review | TechRadar

techradar.com

The Logitech Z-623 Speaker System impresses with its excellent sound quality and robust build, earning high praise for its deep, rich audio and 3D sound experience, especially in gaming environments. Although the proprietary speaker cables can be a drawback, the system's overall performance and THX certification make it a stellar choice for those seeking high-quality PC speakers. Despite being on the pricier side, the Z-623 delivers value, making it a recommended option for audio enthusiasts.

Logitech Z623 2.1 Speaker System Review - HomeTheaterHifi.com

hometheaterhifi.com

The Logitech Z623 2.1 Speaker System impresses with its affordability and surprisingly robust sound performance. While it won't satisfy audiophiles seeking high-fidelity audio, its well-balanced midrange, solid lows, and crisp highs make it a compelling choice for gamers and budget-conscious users. THX certification adds a touch of prestige, though the sound may not reach the pinnacle of THX quality. Annoyances include a proprietary cable and a single active speaker at low volumes, but these are overshadowed by the system's overall value. For a simple, compact, and enjoyable audio upgrade at a great price, the Z623 is a winner.

Logitech Z623 Speaker Review: A Cinematic Experience

lifewire.com

The Logitech Z623 Speaker System is a mixed bag, offering booming bass and an impressive cinematic experience for movie and game enthusiasts at an affordable price. However, its proprietary connectors and lack of detail in mids and highs make it less ideal for audiophiles and music purists. While it excels in delivering a home theater vibe with THX certification, its music performance is underwhelming, often drowning out finer details behind its powerful bass. Overall, it's a solid choice for those prioritizing movies and games, but not the best pick for music lovers seeking clarity.

Superb For Movies and Music-Listening!

No, this is not for studio-use, but for everything else it is! I am completely blown away by how good the sound is on these speakers. However, it lacks some highs I really want, but the amazing low-end is perfect for movies.

Amazing Sound System for the price!

Easy installation and amazing loud sound for the price you pay. My only complaint is that the cords are a tad bit to short, but it didn't impact my system, it might just impact others who want to spread this system out more.

BASS HEAVEN

This thing rattles tables and windows with it's huge and crazy amount of bass. Put the volume on 1/3 and the bass to the max with some bass boosted music and you will get bass heaven.

Mids and Highs are good. One thing I don't like is the hissing noise but the crazy bass makes up for it. For the price and the sound your getting, it's worth it.
