HELM Free VST Review — DATABROTH

databroth.com

Helm, a free synth by Matt Tytel, offers unique sounds with its two oscillators and quirky modulation options, earning praise for its intuitive interface and distinctive digital edge. While it lacks the versatility of newer synths like Vital, its sharp and sometimes harsh tones can still be a valuable addition to your toolkit, particularly for those seeking a "bad in a good way" sound. Its limitations are clear, but its charm and capability for professional use at no cost make it a noteworthy option.

meh

big on features, low on sound quality. Fun to play with and its free. I wouldn't use it in a finished song. Filter sounds like dog farts.

Good for Basses

I love the UI of this synth. It is intuitive. I use Helm mostly for Basses and Keys. Leads seems interesting but I recommend this VST. It is for free!

noizefreakcomposer

Great for basses

I use Helm to make deep basses but thats about it. Not very good leads but anything goes when its a free plugin!
