Way beyond my expectations

I honestly got this thinking it was some dumb vacuum tube simulation VST, because I wanted to get Ozone 8 Elements and found this cheap plugin.

What I got instead was a versatile analog-style synthesizer that I actually used quite a lot when I didn't really have stuff like the V collection or whatnot. I used this a LOT, and I do mean a LOT. Genuinely one of my favourite synthesizers because of the surprise factor alone, even if I never really use it today.

It has a lot of weird choices and features, and honestly it could all be organized better. It's a mess. It's a mess I learned to push through and learn how this thing works. And it's a mess that I wouldn't want to learn again now that I have better stuff to work with around.

Best of all, when I mean cheap, I REALLY mean cheap. Like, I spent £1 on this when I thought it was just some dumb effect that I could maybe use, but nooo it's actually a pretty decent plugin all around, definitely one I'd probably use today if I didn't just forget it exists (which happens more often than I'd like to admit)

yeah the knobs are organized terribly, actually makes my head hurt tbh which is why I try to spend as little time there as possible.

Amazing analog emulation

I own the Vacuum Mono synth and mainly use it for bass and SFX and I didn't even know the polysynth existed. I use this as a substitute since I sold my analog synths and while it isn't an actual analog synthesizer, it gets the job done for me. I love this plug-ins lush pads and it really hits the mark for me on intuitive interaction and expression.

Great sounding, but buggy as heck.

I've had a tough time with this synth. I had it installed when I was primarily using Studio One 3 and it crashed often while loading causing studio one to skip it on load. I've had even less luck with Ableton, and currently, I'm unable to reinstall it due to their strict licensing process, so it's a dud for me.

Good synth

It doesn't really sound analog, but it can create some interesting sound. My fav feature is the vacuum tube saturation that you can find on OSC, Filter & Drive, it's pretty unusual for a soft synth and I really love what it can do.

Favourite VA Synth

This is by far my favourite virtual analog synth. It sounds old, it can sound modern, it has a certain crunch and is polyphonic. Recommend it!

Mix engineer Tommaso Colliva on recording Drones : "The synths on the album are mostly hardware, though we did keep some of the soft synths from pre–production, during which Matt likes to use Native Instrument’s Massive, Rob Papen’s Predator and Air Music’s Vacuum Pro."
