Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about Mooer Trelicopter.

Features and functionality

  • Placing a buffer in front of the Trelicopter resolves a ticking clock noise issue, enhancing its performance in the signal chain.

    Source
  • Some users note the absence of a volume control, which can lead to perceived volume loss in certain contexts.

    Source
  • The Supro Tremolo features a transistorized Supro amp preamp, allowing it to function as a distortion pedal in addition to providing tremolo effects.

    Source
  • The bias and depth knobs offer a wide range, adjustable from 7 o'clock to 5 o'clock, allowing for diverse tremolo settings.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • The Trelicopter can achieve both choppy Radiohead-style tremolo and subtle amp-like tremolo, making it versatile for different musical styles.

    Source
  • The Trelicopter excels in recreating Radiohead sounds, especially when combined with compression and slap-back delay for tracks like "Planet Telex" and "You."

    Source

User experience

  • Setting the depth to zero can boost output by approximately +6dB, effectively pushing an amp like the Blues Junior into overdrive.

    Source
  • The EHX Wriggler offers four modes covering classic vibrato and tremolo sounds but is noted for being difficult to find in certain regions.

    Source
  • Despite some users experiencing noise issues with gain pedals, others report no noticeable volume drop when the Trelicopter is engaged.

    Source

Comparisons

  • The Trelicopter was favored until some users switched to tremolos with harmonic settings, despite the optical setting being predominantly used.

    Source
  • The Fulltone SupraTrem, while versatile, lacks the slower upswell of a Farfisa tremolo but is still a solid option for many users.

    Source
  • The Boss TR-2 is praised for its reliability and durability, making it a preferred choice for those not needing tap tempo.

    Source
  • The Source Audio Vertigo and Strymon Flint are recommended for those seeking digital options to replicate amp tremolo, with Flint offering additional reverb effects.

    Source
  • Compared to the Malekko Omicron, the Trelicopter struggles with gain, as the Omicron handles gain better without optical mechanisms.

    Source

Value and pricing

  • At approximately $50, the Trelicopter provides impressive sound quality for a micro pedal, offering significant value for its size.

There are better options

The pedal works well for its purpose and price. The controls are fine and produce a good sound. On the other hand, it presents a noticeable white noisy all the time, even when off. Which sounds strange once it’s announced as a true bypass pedal. Still: great pedal for its price.

Awesome

Awesome pedal for the money. Good controls and definitely a worth addition to anyone's pedalboard. Works perfectly and holds its own compared to more expensive pedals.
