It's a tremolo, but it's not a Pulsar
What I like compared to the older version of the Stereo Pulsar: it’s more compact, there’s a volume knob now, the switch is silent, and you no longer get audio artifacts with a hot input signal.
What I don’t like: the waveform is different - more straight, less "shimmery". The magic of the Pulsar is gone.
And just like with the old Stereo Pulsar, for some reason the manufacturer keeps insisting on this controversial depth knob design, where you hit maximum approximatelly half-way through, and past that point, the tremolo goes into the signature EHX weird mode. I mean, I do like weird sounds, but it would be a lot more convenient if maximum depth was at the very end of the knob’s range.
In the end, I sold this "improved" version and stuck with my old Stereo Pulsar. If you liked the waveform on the original Stereo Pulsar, don’t rush to "upgrade".

Simple, robust practical tremolo.
My big box version crapped out on me one day. So to replace it, I bought XO stereo version and hated it. Found it to be the most underwhelming pedal Ive ever had. Then one day at guitar center I tried this new nano version and after sitting down with it for a few minutes, I HAD to have it. The difference; The volume knob. Being able to control the volume of this pedal brings the effect to life. I also love the soft button and putting it in a nano enclosure is perfect because the effect really can’t justify taking up much room on a pedal board. The Pulsar has always been a versatile trem effect. Anyway, highly recommend.
