Critic Reviews

Peavey ReValver 4

soundonsound.com

Peavey ReValver 4 offers a compelling suite of virtual gear with impressive tonal versatility, especially for studio users, thanks to its affordable Producer Pack and innovative ACT features. While it excels in delivering convincing tones, the software doesn't quite match the tactile experience of high-end hardware like the Helix. The user interface could be more intuitive, and amp profiling requires practice to master. Nevertheless, for its price and studio flexibility, ReValver 4 is a strong contender among native software modelers.

Peavey ReValver 4 – MusicPlayers.com

musicplayers.com

Peavey ReValver 4 impresses with its authentic amp modeling and clever tone-matching tricks, offering a unique collection of amps and effects at a budget-friendly price. While its interface could use a polish, the software shines in a studio environment, providing a versatile arsenal of sounds that expand your sonic palette. However, the graphics disappoint, and the guitar profiling feature falls short of expectations. Despite these quirks, ReValver 4 stands out as a solid choice for those seeking to enhance their recording setup with Peavey's classic tones.

Peavey Revalver 4 Review - Bass Musician Magazine, The Face of Bass

bassmusicianmagazine.com

Peavey Revalver 4 shines as a versatile and highly customizable amp simulator, boasting an impressive array of features including 28 stomp pedals, 20 amps, and 64 cabinet choices. Its ability to tweak schematics for pedals, amps, and effects offers endless sound possibilities, making it a standout for both live and studio use. Users can easily integrate it into any DAW or use it standalone, and despite its complexity, it remains user-friendly out-of-the-box. However, the sheer volume of features might overwhelm beginners. Overall, it's a powerhouse for musicians seeking creative sound manipulation.

A quick review of the Peavey Revalver 4.

This is my go-to software amp modeller. It comes with a big array of Peavey amps as well as amps from other brands such as Mesa Boogie, Orange, etc. The FX list is quite large. I use it a lot in studio recording situations. The fact you can change the impedance interaction and also mess around with the schematics of each component besides the basic options of changing the cabs, impulse responses, mic position and so on to achieve your desired tone makes this software extremely powerful. For all that you get in this software, it isn't that expensive. A winner for sure.

I incorporate a hex pickup into my sound, so I use a VG99 guitar synth setup, and I also use Guitar Rig 3, plus a Peavey ReValver.
