Comparisons

  • Users find Bias FX 2's cab simulations lacking, recommending external IRs for better tone quality.

    Source

    Source
  • The LE version limits third-party IR use, resulting in less satisfying tones compared to other amp sims with broader IR compatibility options.

    Source
  • Bias FX 2 is compared to Neural DSP and Audio Assault amp sims, with some users preferring the latter for higher quality tones and stability.

    Source
  • Bias FX 2's effects are preferred over Overloud THU for their responsiveness and clarity, particularly for bass guitar applications.

    Source

Features and functionality

  • Bias FX 2's presets often require the Pro edition, limiting access for standard users.

    Source
  • There is no "NEW" function for presets; users must edit existing ones to create new sounds.

    Source

    Source

User experience

  • Frequent login issues and persistent sales pitches for upgrades are noted as frustrating aspects of Bias FX 2 ownership.

    Source
  • Some users experience a persistent compressed attack sound, which remains unresolved despite disabling noise gates and adjusting settings.

    Source
  • Users report that running an iPad setup with Bias FX 2 can last 4-5 hours on battery, but using a USB camera adapter allows for continuous power.

    Source

Software and compatibility

  • Bias FX 2 reportedly consumes significant CPU resources, leading to sluggish performance, especially compared to Guitar Rig.

    Source
  • The software can be sluggish within some DAWs, potentially affecting workflow efficiency.

    Source
  • The iOS and desktop versions of Bias FX 2 require separate licenses, limiting cross-platform workflow.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • Owners use Bias FX 2 live with setups involving iPads and Bluetooth foot controllers, eliminating the need for traditional amps and pedalboards.

    Source

Setup and maintenance

  • A USB C hub with power pass-through can keep the iPad charged while connecting the audio interface and MIDI foot switch, ideal for extended gigs.

Perfect software

Truely realistic sound, wide effects selection and easy to learn to use it

Preferred Settings + Usage:

Personally, everytime I play I change between settings, but always with a clear idea on amp set: Bass and Treble up to 8 or around and mid down to 2 or so

Hello, which version do you use? I've been using Bias FX in a iPad Mini 3 with an iRig 2 as interface. Check out that you can use your real pedals if you plug them between the interface.

christheriault

I use the windows desktop 64 bit version

Incredible!

I´ve been using Positive Grid´s Bias Fx and Bias Amp for IPAD, and it sounds incredible!

jimmarchi1

anything else to say about it? have you owned any of the amps modelled to make a fair comparison?

rickfranchiose

Hi! I haven´t owned any of the modelled amps. Here in Brazil those amps are incredibly expensive, like 2 or 3 times the price theý´re sold in US. I own a Fender Hot Rod Deville 212, and I can say that the Fender amps modelled have lots of similarities withe the real deal, and, more important, a really great sound. For example, if you use a drive/dist pedal, like Suhr Riot, which I own, the result you get inside the software is very close to the result you get in the Fender. However, I do lots of comparison with amp samples (on Youtube, official amp makers websites, etc), and the result is awesome. The last comparison I made was the Engl models, which sound amazing on Bias Fx. I think that a less trained ear can´t tell the difference between the real amp and the model.
